Hugo Domingo is a British contemporary artist who graduated with a BA in Fine Art from the University of Brighton in 2023. His practice explores the subconscious, mythology and psychological states through painting and sculpture.
Domingo’s work has evolved through several phases, moving from psychedelic abstraction and mythological imagery toward darker, more ambiguous compositions. His current body of work, Residual Forms, explores dissolving anatomy, ghostly figures and psychological space, where fragments of bodies emerge and distort within fluid environments.
Drawing influence from artists such as Francis Bacon, Domingo’s paintings occupy a territory between figuration and abstraction, evoking a sense of unease, myth and emotional intensity.
